LSU reached Alabama's 2 yard line in one drive, Alabama's 13 yard line in another drive, and Alabama's 8 yard line in yet another drive.

And came away with field goals.

Bama crossed the 50 5 times. LSU 3.
Bama had longer drives.
Bama had more total yardage.
Bama had more first downs.
Bama had more 3rd down conversions.
Bama won the time of possession.

Bama had one long drive for a FG.
LSU had one long drive for a FG.

Both teams had 2 INTs.
Both teams converted 3 points out of one INT.

Bama couldn't convert a FG attempt in OT. LSU did. End of game. End of story.

Furthermore, Alabama's missed FGs were from 44, 50, 49, 52. I'll be nice and throw out the 44, but is it any surprise Bama missed the other 3? Those weren't exactly chip shots.

Foster only comes in on FG attempts over 40 yards.

He was 77.8 percent last year. Hit from 41, 44, 49, and 45.

He was 22.2 percent this year. Part of that was trying the 50, 49 and 52 yarders.

Had Saban not tried to throw in OT I don't have any doubt either Foster or Shelley would have caused another OT, that is if LSU would have been forced to kick a FG like they were.

One reason for Alabama's stats is that Brad Wing was pinning them deep like he always does. You can't count Bama's offense but not mention WHY they were in the positions they were in in the first place.

Alabama's offense was better than LSU's, but LSU's special teams was FAR superior. I'm not even talking about the field goals... but Brad Wing was a huge part of the game as far as field position.

LSU's defense also played better than Alabama's in their own territory. They stopped Alabama on the side of the field that mattered. Any time Bama crossed that 50 yard line, LSU's defense clamped down hard. Alabama's bent more.

Uhhhhh, we weren't forced to kick a field goal. That's your selective memory. We kicked it on third down from point blank ranch BECAUSE we knew that's all we needed to beat that arse on your home turf, but RTR and make up whatever shite you want if it makes you feel better
