Malzahn was named the offensive coordinator at Auburn University by first year head coach Gene Chizik on December 28, 2008. Malzahn is known for his no-huddle offensive philosophy. In January 2003, he published a book and instructional video titled Hurry Up No Huddle -- An Offensive Philosophy. Many leaders in the profession have been critical of this system, as it increases the total amount of plays and decreases the amount of recovery time players have between plays, thus causing more contact, more injuries and thus puts players at greater physical harm. This is the perfect example of having success too fast. One minute you are a highschool coaches wife making 30-50 thousand a year and within a few short years, you are making somewhere over a million dollars plus a level of celebrity status in Alabama. Plus I believe she was playing off the "emptyness syndrome". They do not have the years of maturity to handle the success.
