From my understanding, the NCAA can retroactively apply sanctions to the potential school, for example, OM, for hiring a coach with the "failure to monitor" action taken against them. After a certain time period, however, those go away. Correct me if I'm wrong here this is just what I've heard.

I think that is right. I didn't mean to imply that it would be a good idea to go after Davis; just that there is a way to do it. I wouldn't touch with a 10 ft pole. He is a good coach and can certainly recruit but he would be risky, risky. Not sure he would even know how to do it within the rules.
