Would LSU have to win NC game?

This is the weirdest season for the BCS I have seen. A thought to ponder is if LSU does win against the Hawgs and Dawgs and face a Bama repeat do they have to win the game to take the title? 13-1 over more ranked teams would still be better than 12-1...
I am sure there are a lot of opinions on this.
