That is the situation that the BCS is trying to create. I guess from that standpoint, it is a success. Look back just prior to the BCS and see how rare top 5 matchups were. In truth, at the end of the season, the winning team will have a case against almost everyone ranked or unranked. They are most likely linked within a game of one of the others in the top 10, and certainly within two.

It was a beauty contest actually. A team could have an early loss and work their way back up in the polls.
