The Athens Banner-Herald reports that 20 people were booked into jail on underage drinking charges. Seven suspects were jailed on intoxication charges and a dozen others were accused of disorderly conduct.
Authorities say 10 other suspects were charged with drunken driving in the hours after Saturday's game.

Good lord. The Athens police need to cool it. They should just try to bust coke users like the Tuscaloosa police.

OXford laughs at this. Some weekends there are 120+ arrests. One game weekend a couple years ago the jail hit capacity and they started keeping people outside in roped off supervised areas and in some storage shed.

That's light compared to Oxford on gameday/double decker weekend. Plus Athens has a much higher population.

I know its pretty normal for everyone to think they've got it bad, but I can say that the GT cops are chill as hell about this stuff.
Obviously, they've got other, bigger issues to address.

There really weren't that many cops downtown compared to other nights where you would see paddy wagons all up and down the streets.

I got pretty hammered after the game. Saved two UGA girls from a creeper at the restaurant we were eating at, then they took me over to meet their dad next door. He bought me drinks, then the girls took me to a bar down the street. Wish I wasn't married, I would have tore them apart.
Thankfully I had a DD, but I didnt see but one cop out on the road back
