What is SEC culture?

Maybe you all could help us newbies understand what the SEC is all about. Of course we know about kick-arse stadiums that would tower over ours.
There has been talk by many I'm sure that Missouri is not SEC material. Aside from whether or not we can compete, what else do we need to know or be aware of?

Smashing non-SEC schools and then rubbing it in by chanting SEC.
Tailgating starting on Thursdays at the latest.
Being loud from before the first whistle until the band has left the stadium.

Bottom line: college football has to dominate the culture of either the entire state, or a huge portion of the state. This means Kentucky and Mizzou are not really part of the SEC culture. Miami is not a college town, but the northern half of Florida has a strong college following, so the Gators are SEC culture.
If most Mizzou followers care more about the Rams, Chiefs, Cardinals or Royals, then Mizzou is not a part of the SEC culture and will never fit in.
Do you fill your stadium every game? Do your fans travel well to bowl and away games? Do you get just as excited when you land a 5 star DT as when you land a 5 star QB?

Here's SEC culture... You have just joined fight club. Every fall we beat each other to a pulp. Sure, winning is job one, but job two is to rough up your opponent. If you can't win the game, the next best thing is to leave your opponent physically decimated so that he has a hard time winning the next week. Sure, Ole Miss is down right now, but while we are beating them they'll be sure to pop us in the mouth once or twice. The best way to inflict pain is with a ferocious defense. Fast, brutal, vicious defense. We also tend to like to grind it out with the running game. Yeah, we may have some teams run the spread, but they only succeed when the QB is a power runner. It's brutal football. THIS is how we like it. This is why SEC football is the best.
We don't care that there weren't a lot of points put on the board in the LSU-Bama game. We care that they beat the hell out of each other. The team left standing was the team with the fewest injuries and the least worn down players. The game was over when Bama's players were beaten to a pulp and just couldn't punch anymore. That is how football is in the SEC!
What you will learn is that your team is soft. By the end of the first year your team will be burger. Your players will look up at your coach with big puppy dog eyes and say, "Why did you do this to us?". But we will not stop punching you in the head. Years from now you will finally toughen up... And then you will have really joined the SEC.

Went to my first Razorback game in ..... well let's just say before most posting here were born. Now after all these years of the Hogs being in the SEC all I can tell you is "SEC culture" is a thing which cannot be explained. It can only be experienced and lived. But I can promise you this. Should you be fortunate to live long enough, you will come to appreciate the SEC for being the greatest sports league ever assembled in the history of mankind. It is that much damn fun.

You will understand the first time LSU visits your campus. I can't wait to be there for that game. Your city will not have enough alcohol to satisfy the thirst of the tiger-faithful. And god help your bars if we lose. They could close down for the rest of the year and still make a profit.
Just ask Knoxville.
