I recall having trouble with this in 2009. Is there a certain HD Antenna that will work or do I need to bring a dish?

Last time I tried this I had to use a converter and a fairly large and ugly old UHF antenna ... it works, but the dish is your best bet.

Most of the new HD antennas you can buy that don't look like a remnant of the cold war are not powerful enough to pick up the affiliate.

Get a powered antenna and make sure you got enough juice for it as well. This season we switched to a generator and get better reception.

and I get it well..
but it has had times where it had hick-ups..

I watched the Bama-Flor. Beatdown this year..

You can look up the location of the local HD towers on this website. It also gives you a general idea of how powerful your antenna has to be and how much it has to be above the ground to grab certain local HD channels. You also have to take account into tall buildings around your reception site.

Just splice into a cable drop and throw a two-way splitter on that bitch.

I have a homemade antenna that works on gamedays in Tuscaloosa. It's made out of coat hangers, so I'd assume one of the fancy $100 ones would work.

Go to Best Buy and buy a "Terk" brand. They have a couple of models. Both are for outdoor, one resembles the old rabbit ears from a long time ago. It is exceptional, as long as you are within 20-30 miles of the tower for their station.

I do not know the model number. Good Luck
