What is this "Keep it in Alabama BS?"

I was talking to an awbarn fan the other day about saturday's game, and though he doesn't think we have a chance, he says Bama will win it all..then went on to say as long as "we keep it in alabama" or something like that.
I was like..dude, are you really an auburn fan? I'm pretty sure bama refers to auburn as west georgia and most barner fans would love to burn the rolltahd to the ground anyday.
So what's this keep it in Alabama stuff about? Would any of you AU/UA fans really want the other school to win it if you couldn't this year?(like the barn)
I just think it's kind of a stupid way to look at it. Nobody ever says "keep it in florida", etc

I don't jump on the complete UA hate train many Aubs do, but the one thing I never want for them to do is win a NC (or even SEC championship).

Its what Aubs said last year for us Bama fans to pull for them agaisnt the Ducks. Kinda sad, no Bama fans did

I am not really on that train. However, it would be pretty cool from a historical standpoint to have back-to-back-to back BCS championships and Heisman trophies among Alabama and Auburn. It would only be cool because it would be Alabama 2, Auburn 1. If it was reversed it would suck,

I might be in the minority, but I root for Bama when they're not playing Auburn.

what's funny is they think that Alabama is the kingdom of football, but none of their stars are from Alabama.

Nothing. Don't buy it. I don't claim bama fans that adopt this mentality. I respect an auburn fan more when they say they'd rather us lose than win even in championships.
I hope auburn wins only enough games to keep their ball club alive and me revel in their misery. :-)

I don't trust anyone that says that they are an Auburn fan, but pull for Alabama except 1 game a year, or vise versa. Some folks don't have the extreme hat for the other school, but I just can't see pulling for your biggest rival to win.
I didn't take any pride in Auburn winning last year. Let the Auburn fans have their win, don't try to piggyback on to their win by talking about state pride. The same thing goes for this year. I like Auburn fans pulling for us to win. It wouldn't seem right otherwise.

Not being from the state of Alabama, there's no state pride issue for me wanting the crystal ball to stay in Alabama. So I have no problem rooting against Alabama.
But this year, if I have to choose between lsu winning it all and bama winning it all, give me bama.
For some reason I find jubilant MNC champion bama fans more palatable than lsu fans.

2 years ago I cheered for Alabama to win it all, only after they beat us. This year, I just hope some SEC school, I don't care who, just 1 of them, to take Alabama down to shut them up.

There's a very small contingent of Alabamians who think like that. Probably less than 10%, maybe even 5%. As far as I'm concerned, if Auburn can't win it, I don't want the MNC in the SEC let alone the state of Alabama.

I don't hate Bama.. Hell there isn't much I do hate.. If you get too tied up in football, you end up like Updyke.
