McCarron is also in his 3rd year in the same system. He is just a first year starter, of which there are a few on that list.

starting QBs tend to be upperclassmen and even so you have to at least acknowledge Leinart was the QB for a team that won a NC in 2003 and Tebow shared QB duties for Florida in 2006

But yes, IMO generally it is an advantage to have an upperclassman QB - they just tend to be better by then
