Aggies think they'll land either Meyer, Saban, Stoops or Pete Carroll

But who are the candidates that might actually return their phone call?

If they landed GM or GP they would have done pretty well indeed

None of the four you listed will seriously consider A&M IMO

They think they can steal a coach from his job?

Meyer

Less of a chance than the other 3.

Phillip Fulmer might fly them out for an interview, if they're lucky.

tony franklin.

no really, if tamu would pony up big time for a good coach, upgrade of facilities, hire a good pr group that could promote some of their kind of cool traditions and downplay the just weird arse ones, they might could lure in a decent coach.

that texas recruiting base + being in the sec is the kind of untapped potential that might get a good coach interested.

and get some cute girl cheerleaders for the boys.

What about Brad Childress?

Kind of feels like the best A&M can do is grabbing an NFL failure off the unemployment lines... I mean thats how they ended up with Mike Sherman in the first place!!!

They'll promote Dat Nguyen. Everyone will go apeshit with glee. They'll continue to struggle.

Toss 3M at Malzahn, with Texas deep recruiting, Texas finesse-type/Big-12 raised/spread O/shotgun formation influenced high schoolers, and A&M's deep pockets, is the super smart play, in making a big splash into the SEC.

Thus, will not happen, because A&M always hires grinder-style HCs..they'll f it up.

Meyer NO. maybe THE Ohio State, if he deals with his anxiety issues. I doubt he will ever coach again.

Saban NO frickING WAY

Stoops. unlikely but if they opened the bank, maybe

Pete only if he gets canned at Seattle. Since he already got a shite team to the 2nd round of NFL playoffs, he is not going anywhere for a while, at least.

My suggestion: Eric Mangini
