I love how, while Auburn has been top 10 in winning percentage over the past 25 years, we have a down year this year and in 08, yet we are a historically terrible program.

Pretty sure you didn't give us Bear Bryant or Gene Stallings, they just eventually came back, both coached at Bama before A&M. And if anything Bryant gave us Gene Stallings. And we didn't give you Fran, he left, you hired him.

Bear Bryant was a pretty big fan of our yell leaders and traditions. Was he a f*g?

In his defense, that was a softie you served up for him--can't blame a guy for swinging for the fences

Edit: directed at Sherwood Brotron.

You got any pictures of him smiling like this with your yell leaders.

Hell, he even like the ones from the cow college.

Although I regret the day it happened, and always will, the structure of your sentence is misleading with regard to how how Fran ended up at A&M.

I suppose just flat out saying "You hired our coach away after a 10-2 season", would be a to implicitly acknowledge the strength of what A&M offers.

Of course that is just counter intuitive to the subject of the thread as well as your posts.

He got on a plane and left in the middle of the night cause we were about to get hammered by the NCAA...

He left, you hired him. You hired him, he left. I don't care how you state it. My point is we didn't give him to you, like we shoved him off on you and made you take this horrible coach that depleted your program.

we were going on probation... he left b/c he knew how bad things were about to get in Tuscaloosa due to NCAA sanctions

thus: The Mike Shula years

What makes me HATE A&M when I think about that is that you did it during the week of the Iron Bowl, and we dealt with questions about Fran all week, then got THUNDERfrickED by Auburn in a game we probably should have won. Fran never fit in, and I can't say I blame him for bolting before the desolate next 5 years of probation era football. But I still blame ya'll for that Iron Bowl loss, you couldn't wait a few more days?

Fran's contract at Bama had reduced buyouts for Texas, A&M, and Notre Dame. Those were three jobs that he apparently wanted to accept without serious resistance coming from his contractual obligations with Bama.

The point is all but moot now...But the silver lining is that your perception of A&M is skewed and does not reflect reality.
