I always thought the Texas A&M / TX game was bigger than the TX / OU game ?

i have no idea though, I just assumed there was more in state hatred between the horns and aggies than the sooners and horns

OU / TX obviously has been a bigger game lately, but that doesn't necessarily make it a bigger "rivalry"

kind of like LSU / Bama will be a bigger game than the Iron Bowl this year, but that doesn't make it a bigger rivalry

but like I said, despite being called a longhorn by some aggies, I dont have a clue about Texas rivalries but I just assumed the Aggie Longhorn game was the more bigger/longer/more passionate rivalry

Sorry then, yeah I'd say those are the top 4.

I'd say Army Navy would be number one actually, cause their are so many people that care about it, even if they are fans of other schools.

As a LSU fan, let the Aggies play Florida every year. Try getting excited about the season knowing you have one lost chalked up.

historically ou/tx has been bigger due to their prominence, especially since mack brown got to tx. comparing the ou/tx and a&m/tx rivalry is much like bama/auburn and bama/lsu. it really depends on the year. this year will definitely be a&m/tx simply because everything that has happened

then again, up until the Big 12, the A&M/tx rivalry has had more meaning as far as being in the same conference.

Keep the yell leaders. Their job is to direct and coordinate the crowd at specific times. Don't need to be a hot girl to do that.

sorry larry, usually people that are as abrupt as you have been about A&M are typically longhorns, raiders or baylor fans. something we'll have to get used to with a new conference

Nobody has a problem with the cadets... but why do they have to wear their uniforms to the game? Cant they just show up dressed like college students? You dont think there are people in the military that go to other schools? yet those people dont feel it necessary to put on the uniform for each game

Could you be any more f-ing ignorant? At least do simple fact checking before you throw out blatant lies like this. Good lord.

we actually really dont consider LSU a "rival". they just happen to be in our division and we both have good programs at the moment... oh yeah and they hate us for hiring their old coach

but our rivals in historic context, are Tennessee, then Auburn. Auburn is the instate and so that one has the most smack talk year round, but historically the Bama Tennessee game was more important, with Bear Bryant and General Neyland building the 2 most winning programs in the SEC. If you didn't win the 3rd Saturday in October then you could kiss your chance at winning the SEC goodbye. Bear Bryant always considered Tennessee to be our biggest rival

AU has become a much better program in the last 25 years, so now that rivalry is a bigger deal than it was back in the day, to the point of spiraling out of control

It was way more heated back in the day. Not really sure what you are talking about here. There was a reason that it took such an extended break.

ETA: I realize you are probably comparing to the rivalry with Tenn, which use to be a much bigger rivalry for you guys.

I wouldn't say that exactly. I wouldn't be too scared of playing Auburn at the moment.

ok

heated was the wrong word, very true its always been extremely heated

It just wasn't all that competitive back in the day when Bear was winning 10 in a row. Of course on the other hand it wasnt that competitive when it was Tubbs owning Shula either

I feel like more recently its become a lot more nationally and SEC relevant... as opposed to just being an instate hate fest only people in Alabama cared about

yea, I get what you are saying. That does have a lot to do with the reworking of the SEC divisions and what not. Both teams have had their share of streaks throughout the past century.

you mean this 1 season ?

when is the last time A&M won their conference? Their Division? Went Undefeated? Went to a BCS Bowl Game?

and by the way you have no idea how much I hate you for making me talk up Auburns program, but it is what it is. A&M may have a better team than AU this year, but will they accomplish any of the things AU has accomplished recently ?

you are right, your former coach (fran) almost destroyed our FB team so for the better part of last decade i would not have wanted to play Auburn. we give you bear bryant and gene stallings and you give us fran...what a f-ing joke.

not just this one year. going fwd i am not afraid of them and in the 80's and 90's we would have dominated...and did dominate in a bowl game against Bo Jackson. pretty much just during the fran years is when i would have wanted to avoid em. oh, and when they had cam newton of course.

Thanks for the compliments to our program. I will never forget this.

I love how, while Auburn has been top 10 in winning percentage over the past 25 years, we have a down year this year and in 08, yet we are a historically terrible program.
