This is hard to look at right here, but it shows the damage.
It used to have about 8 parts to it, but IDK where they went.

Damn. It's crazy how much damage a tornado like that can really do.
Here is what used to be 15th street in tuscaloosa. I have to drive by this everyday to work and I try not to look.
It's gotten better than it was, but it's still just destruction as far as you can see.

This is my favorite show and I've really been looking forward to this season since this was the worst one in forever. That first episode was more boring than expected though. Not much happened for one of the worst outbreaks ever.

That's when the Joplin tornado first formed outside of town.
Damn that is crazy. It got so large so quick. Wow.
I havent watched the Storm Chasers, and even though I have it recorded, I dont know if I will ever watch it.

I remember following all the guys on that "tracker" site Discovery has. Most of them weren't really in the areas of the big tornado that hit Smithville or Tuscaloosa. Like Reed and his gang stayed in Mississippi most of the day. They couldn't get any footage of the monster when they weren't there.
I remember watching live streaming of one set of chasers. They were in Northport all day. One guy kept saying they needed to stay, that things would eventually get bad in Tuscaloosa. The other bitched saying they were wasting time sitting there. So they decided to drive up 82 to Columbus to catch the storms. They missed the Tuscaloosa tornado due to that.

I think with Tornadoes that size there really isn't a lot you can do as far as filming. They are just too large and powerful to get close enough for dramatic footage. Once the tornado has passed there is so much destruction that roads leading into the affected areas are impassable limiting what the chasers are able to get on camera.

yeah it was a combination of many storms and chasers being scattered about mixed with fast moving storms, trees and debris, blocked roadways, and victims needing help. I was hoping to see some unseen video of chasers following on the highway through tuscaloosa and then helping victims. That's why I thought it was a lot more boring than expected. Either way, if I could go back in time, I would've taken adantage of State's great meteorology program and devoted my career to this stuff.

What's amazing about the April 27 outbreak is that the best and closest footage of many of the tornadoes from that day were made by amateurs.

yeah the logistics for the chasers were a nightmare
