Why can't State fans handle a little bit of success?

It certainly can't be because...
1) They have an all-time losing record of 500-538
2) They have appeared in an astounding 14 bowl games since their football program was established
3) They have won, something like, 6 of the last 33 games in which they had to travel to JHS
4) This: LINK So many L's on there...
5) They ring fricking cowbells, right on!
6) They can stuff an amazing 55,000 in their stadium (if you want to call it that), according to this: LINK
7) They have a winning record against 1, count it, 1 power-house SEC team (and, for State's sake, thank God for Vandy) LINK
8) They have completely dominated Auburn throughout history with a record of 25-56-3
No, no - That just can't be it...
Beware, SEC... They have beaten a total of 1 SEC West team since Mullen arrived. And it was the vaunted Ole Miss Black Bears. I don't know about you all, but that is pure dominance! Carry on with the #GRINDING, Moo Staters!

I use to have a place in my heart for State. Primarily because they hate Ole Miss almost as much as LSU. But lately, State fans have proven they can't handle a little success. They are becoming more and more like Arky fans.
But to answer Ragaheads question: State has a bunch of fans in the Memphis area. Southhaven, MS is a suburb with a lot of money and they like to keep that fan base happy. It is like Arkansas playing in Little Rock. It is to keep the fan base happy.

Because they have never had much success, so when they have a little, they don't know how to control themselves. It basically amounts to sheer joy. They're not trying to be assholes, it just happens.

Haven't read the thread. Why is predicting a 8-9 regular season, a win against a shitty Auburn squad, and grinding for our state not handling success? We're not grinding so hard because we beat memphis but everyone keeps reminding us that we only beat memphis. We know that. We set a school record and we didn't even look great or try to look great. We just practiced out there. What are we doing that's so conceeded? I don't see it. Don't count coon arse or klong and answer my question.
