Reports are that the marine was stalking a girl in the bar, was kicked out, and actually threw the first punch that started this mess. Whether all that is true, I don't know. It still doesn't defend Jefferson's actions, but it does not appear the marine is some innocent bystander.

I don't think it matters why he was at the bar though. If he threw the first punch then the charges should be reduced imo, but he still kicked a guy that was down on the ground.
