I'll be shocked if it isn't Arkansas. Florida, Georgia and Tennessee won't be down forever and Spurrier is getting up there in age. USC has a very short window to win the SEC before it closes for good. Arkansas has Petrino as their head coach who still has a lot of good years ahead of him. They have a much more successful track record than South Carolina. They've been to three SEC championship games. I don't really see any reason why South Carolina will win the conference championship before Arkansas unless you believe that USC good enough to beat LSU or Alabama in a conference championship game setting in the next couple years or UF, UT and UGA will be in a prolonged slump for a number of seasons.

Couldn't disagree with that statement more, for several reasons.

I predicted that both teams would have a simultaneous shot at it this year, until the Davis injury.

So you do or don't believe that "window" will stay open a while?

I honestly think our major improvement in facilities has translated to better recruiting, particularly in state, and this has permeated to other programs with close geographic proximity. In other words, UGAy and UF have suffered a little because of our about-face in facilities, spending, and recruiting. Things of this nature tend to produce results that last longer than "a few years."
