Your right he was using the autographs to generate more business for his store. This is no different than bars or restaurants having different specials or themes nights etc.. as business promotions. Regardless of what comes of this you can say Tom has done a great job of promoting his business. For all we know he sent the stuff to Clay Travis to promote his business.

Maybe, but the more likely scenario that would have happened if this had caused a problem for Alabama or one of the players is that he would have to close his doors, because no one except the odd Auburn fan living in Tuscaloosa would ever buy a suit in that store again.
