All of you guys have it good. I don't know many Gators that can even tolerate Mick Hubert. After our national title wins, I'd cringe everytime ESPN played his call on SportsCenter...soooo embarrassing. The guy is an absolute joke.

Agreed x10000

Maybe I've just gotten accustomed to hearing Eli but I dont share the disdain for him that you all seem to have. However I do like Chris Stewart so if thats going to be the direction they go in, I will be happy with him in the booth.

Eli is a great announcer. The roses is this grand old stadium are once again Crimson. His voice highlights the national appeal of Alabama football and continues the great connections between New York and The University of Alabama.

I was talking to a fella about this the other day. Mel Allen was the "Voice of the Yankees" forever. A Birmingham guy with a undergrad and JD from UA.

Yep and he did Alabama's PA system as well. There are many overlapping connections between New York and Tuscaloosa.

His errors are frequent and eggregious.

Example: He initially claimed that Jack Hunt (a white safety) caught the Bluegrass Miracle, not Devery Henderson (the black wide reciever who actually did). Just one of many moments

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear Eli's voice is food, not Alabama football.

You've obviously never had to listen to Eli Gold......

From an us vs. the world Munson and John Ward standpoint, I don't care for him. But as a play by play guy, he's actually pretty good. The homer thing definitely has it's place, but it's nice to know what's going on during the game as well.

That whole play was a clusterfrick on an epic scale. I would give him a pass on that one. I like the guy because I've heard him call things out...I don't really care for the sunshine pumping Mr. Gold is famous for.

Eli is well loved. I personally would rather have someone who actually calls the game right instead of just having a recognizable voice. Eli has the job as long as he wants it, but I would love to see him kick back and retire.

Bramlett's voice is not his issue. For me, it's the way he says Auburn."Touchdown Obbbbbbeeeeeeeerrn".
Makes me cringe every time. And I know this is a douchnozzle thing to say, but the sideline reporter, I can't recall his name, He tries very hard, but he should be getting money for a telethon instead of doing radio.

ETA: Quentin maybe? He was a LB I think.

Hell yes. I put the tv on mute and listen to Eli call the game a lot of times.

I have to disagree with you to a point.. My problem is he tends to stay as far away from saying that as possible. In fact he stays away from it so much that it makes him saying TOUCHDOWN TIGERS seem unnatural and somewhat forced. I get why he says it, but I would much rather hear Touchdown Auburn.
