This says Bama and Michigan State split '65. How can you say Arkie was a dynasty when you didn't win anything?

Because we were in the middle of a 22 game win streak and coming off a natty title the previous year...I didn't say it. Sports Illustrated did. Read the cover.

We finished undefeated.
We beat Texas.
Texas beat Alabama in the Orange bowl.
The polls at that time were taken before the bowl games. After the bowls we were named natl champs.
It was a big enough farce that the system was changed the very next year.... our bad luck bc we would have been champs again, but lost to lsu.
Arkansas was within 5 pts of having 3 national titles in the 60s. I wonder how that wouldve changed the last few decades.

So, you are telling me that the SEC was in talks with Florida State in 1978 or before? I am going to call major bullshite on you.
Florida State does not have a strong athletic program, and only came on the scene in football in 1993, 3 years after the agreements between Arkansas & South Carolina to join the SEC.

Arkansas won 22 straight games from 1963-1965, thus the reason Sports Illustrated made that cover.

I'm pretty sure Arkansas was 1-6 vs. SEC teams in the 1960's, too. DYNASTY!

How was I wrong posting a cover? The OP acted as though winning a Title would be new for us...Ask any respectable football historian and they will tell you that Arkansas was a beast from the 50's through the late 80's We started sucking our last year in the SWC in 1990 and have gradually creeped back.
