Yes, Alabama won it in 2008(Auburn had to have one to keep up)... BTW, I am glad Elder did get a second chance, got a scholarship, and hopefully has turned his life around. Some see that as a bad thing. I also hope that Jimmy Johns (he did serve one year)has turned his life around.

Im all for people turning their lives around, but after youve committed armed robbery you lose the opportunity for football to be apart of that.

Not sure what you're expecting me to say. I'm glad Elder got his life back on track. Other than the "armed robbery" part, you can't really compare the two situations. He didn't break into anyone's home. And if I remember correctly, it turned out that the gun was a bb gun. So he had no intent of harming anyone. And he didn't plan out an armed robbery / home invasion with three accomplices.

Do I think he should have been given another scholarship? No.

Alabama coach Nick Saban has released a statement on Sunday night's arrest of freshman DL Jeremy Elder on felony robbery charges.

"He is indefinitely suspended from all football-related activities," Saban said. "I won't have an announcement on his future status until I have had a chance to review all of the information. The University and football program have strict guidelines regarding legal issues of this magnitude."

Quality post, well said.. I disagree with you, but a quality post... Armed robbery is armed robbery, both used a gun. One was in a home where they knew the folks and the other was a random act. I see a lot of similarities. I respect your right to your opinion.

What the hell does this shite have to do with 4 Auburn players committing armed robbery/home invasion? McNeil/Goodwin/Kitchens/Mosley

And, another 4 Auburn players appearing as witnesses? Dyer/Morgan/Benton/Thorpe

And, another 3 Auburn players being evicted more than once for failure to pay their rent? McNeil/Blanc/Thorpe

And, a current Auburn player being arrested for expired driver license/no tag? McCalebb

And, another 4 former Auburn players admitting to P4P to HBO? McClover/Riddick/Gray/Ramsey

Why the hell do you drag up old shite that happened @ Bama 2-3-4 yrs ago?

Don't you have enough shite on your own plate to right now?

Technically, all even numbered interstates/highways run east-west and all odd numbered interstates/highways run south-north.

Your right nothing in your post about other Auburn players has anything to do with the Trailer park 4... I brought up old stuff about Alabama because it was someone who got a scholarship and got a second chance. It was not a dig on Alabama, I am glad he is AT Troy (CURRENT). I am for giving folks second chances, I do not care if they are Alabama players or Auburn players. I am for the kids. I hate Alabama, but not the kids. Do you get it? Or are you just too full of BAMMER?

I would give him the benefit of the doubt. However, any time there is any hint of something negative regarding AU players current or former he feels the need to rehash old shite about Bama's former criminal players.

I recognize and admit that we had thugs on our team in the past. I'm thankful everyday that I don't see a headline with a Bama players name plastered on the front page. (Especially during the off season)

I also recognize that the negative/criminal activities that are taking place at AU right now have escalated when compared to Tubs era.

Makes a person wonder what the hell has changed so much in the couple of years since Tubs & BBQ bunch have been gone.

I think you can, as they're very similiar situations. The people Elder held up had no idea it wasn't a real gun that could kill them, just as the guys that the morons on AU's team didn't know whether the gun was real or not...both parties would assume the guns were. The fear that they felt is the reason these guys deserve jail, just as Elder did. While I don't agree with auburntigers77 that these guys deserve to skate on the charges and be allowed to play elsewhere, it was a good example he provided of the possibility of it happenening. I think Elder and these four knuckleheads both deserve(d) lengthy sentences.
