It is expensive as hell. A good stick is $100 minnimum and actually the best bats in the league BAR NONE are made in LA by Marruci.
And wood like that isnt much of a difference than you're average wood. ITS DIFFERENT but not to the extent of your peice of shite Louisville Slugger for 45 bucks at your local sports store

Also, about the transition thing. Pretty much all ballplayers play in some sort of wooden bat league in the offseason.
The Cape Cod League would be the most well known.
