It is looking that way

Demetre Baker was an absolute stud linebacker and has been kicked off the team.

So much of a stud that he wasn't even on GA depth Chart.

You want me to dig up examples? I'll find them, but the crux of the whole conversation was favoritism at UGA. I'm sure it goes on to a degree just like anywhere in college football. But if you look at the Zack Mettenberger situation closely, your argument that somehow Richt is king of favoritism falls completely apart.

Enjoy

He was about to be redshirted.

I'm sure with your vast knowledge of college football you realize that freshmen linebackers sometimes take a while to develop don't you?

Thanks for playing

They ususally do that before the season.

Not two games into the season unless its a medical redshirt.

I don't have to trust you. I have lived in GA for a long time have seen "The Georiga Way".

If you aren't a starter you might pay for getting in trouble if you're a starter then richt just tells you what you did wrong and suspeneds you aginast the likes of Furman (for a half).

Whew what a punishment.

Whether what you said is true or not, in what way is any of what you said different than any other big time college football program? Also, the University has guidelines for suspensions depending on the offense. Out of Richt's hands.

Also if Richt was such a partisan, why did he destroy his depth at QB by kicking off Mettenberger? He suspended our starting runningback for the first game last year.

Just because you live in GA doesn't make you an expert in UGA football. I know guys on the football team. Trust me, they pay in other ways besides suspensions to the tune of 5 A.M. on the practice field.

Cigar,

Richt is a good man who does no wrong. You live in Ga so you should know that by now.

Yes, you destroyed me. Zack Mettenberger kicked off the team shows Richt is the SEC's leading advocate of favoritism.

What does Ealy getting kicked off the team show you? We have Caleb King and two unproven running backs in Ken Malcomb and Isaiah Crowell. For all we know they could turn into the next Jasper Sanks - and we already know what a disappointment King has been.

Richt can be called many things, but to say he shows favoritism more than other coaches in the SEC or the NCAA is laughable.

I am no huge fan of Mark Richt. Do I want him to succeed? Of course, I think he's a great man, but he hasn't shown much in quite a while.

Not sure why you have such a hard-on for UGA anyway. Therapy might help.

If you want examples, here are a few:

Caleb KIng this past year, Justin Houston for first two games of 2009, Ealey for first game this year, Ben Jones for game after he was flagged for bad PF against MSU, Bruce Figgins for first 6 games last year, Tavarres King this year... and considering the numerous transgressions occurring in Athens, the list can go on.

Basically, Cigar Tiger, here's the thing. If you knew anything about UGA, then you should start with the fact that they are one of the few schools with a pretty strict punishment policy in place, and so even if Richt wanted to play favorites, most of the time the punishment is out of his hands.

And while, you can hem and haw all you want about the first game being a pansy, even when it isn't, UGA has still had important guys suspended. I seem to recall something like 8 suspended for a season opener at Clemson back in 2003.
