how is Auburn landing all these blue chip recruits?

under Tubs I remember they recruited okay, like in the top 10-20 range. but all of a sudden they're landing blue chips as if they're Texas/USC or something. last year they even beat out Bama. this year they're killing it again and they'll finish strong, possibly in the top 3.
so after hiring a 5-19 coach they became an elite tier football program all of a sudden? am I missing something here? why are these recruits dying to play for Chizik?

Family bro. 'Bama can't be #1 every year, USC has fallen off due to probation, Texas and Florida has changed entire staff.
It's just a circle. However, I know what you're saying. It looks fishy.
frick, Clemson is tearing it up this year.

Lowder's fingerprints have lingered for three decades in the hiring and firing of coaches and athletic directors alike -- even university presidents. Thus, his brash micromanagement of his alma mater is as renowned as it is reviled.
When Tommy Tuberville was lured away from Mississippi before the 1999 season, Auburn was still paying off four ex-football coaches -- head coaches Pat Dye and Terry Bowden, along with defensive coordinators Wayne Hall and "Brother" Bill Oliver. The price tag approached $2.5 million.
Oliver reached a $210,000 settlement after filing suit accusing Lowder and then-athletic director David Housel of reneging on a promise to name Oliver as Bowden's replacement. Oliver said Lowder first broached the prospect two seasons before Bowden was forced out, adding, "I felt like an old whore."
Kenneth Ingram, who represented Oliver, called Lowder a man "who has anointed himself a monarch over this, what he considers to be his kingdom." The attorney attended Auburn and held tickets to a football skybox.
Bowden, now ABC's college football studio analyst, credits Lowder for his hiring and eventual firing, as well as alleging that Lowder was involved in a deep rooted, pay-for-play scheme in place when Bowden was hired almost a decade ago. (ABC and ESPN are part of The Walt Disney Co.)
Wanting to have a public record in case anything happened to him, Bowden agreed to a lengthy tape-recorded interview with Paul Davis of the Opelika-Auburn News in 2001. In transcripts reviewed by ESPN.com, Bowden said he was so stressed about Lowder during his last year at Auburn that he told Davis, "I'm having my house checked for bugs
Bowden also said it was Lowder who convinced Dye to resign at the end of the 1992 season, fearing ex-player Eric Ramsey's allegations of pay-for-play at Auburn might expose the larger scheme and result in stricter NCAA sanctions. As his Auburn tenure drew to a close, Bowden said Housel acknowledged that Lowder was the source of a newspaper story indicating the trustees had lost confidence in him.
Guess who is still in charge at Auburn...

Havent you heard the man speak? He just wreaks of charisma
Hell, during his postgame interview after winning the title, he uttered his famous quote- "nothing went thru my head" when asked what he was thinking after a turnover
Cheez has that "IT" factor

Bankroll. $cams daddy let the cat out the bag & now other recruits are signing up for the pay to play plan. They are no longer considered blue chippers when they sign at au they upgrade them to green chippers.

AU is recruiting what they always have its just Lowder is paying the recruiting sites to up their stars. We really have a 20-25 ranked class Lowder just greased the wheels to make it a top 10 on paper. No worries.

There was actually a secret meeting of Tigers Unlimited members 2 weeks after the hiring of Gene Chizik. It was held on the plantation owned by Pat Dye where we all got into an Indian smoke house until we began to have visions of the future. We then drank some bourbon and sacrificed a couple of goats. All in all, I think it has worked out pretty well for us.

they can only hope these blue chips are as good as the players Tubs recruited. The went undefeated TWICE with tubs lesser recruits. (newton the exception).
that should tell you everything about rankings. Au, under tubs, never had top 5 classes but alway produced top talent.

they... just won the national championship. and they still have a lot of room to say "you'll play right of the bat."
oh, that and they can recruit well. it's not exactly a shocker.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Think about it.
They were shite before last year.
Chiz is hired.
Chiz is a C- level coach at best.
Chiz is a "yes man" which allows Dye & Co free reign and back door deals which they are known for. Cant have Bama on top, so they will do whatever they need to stop.
They start getting talent signing out of nowhere.
Amazing isnt it...

Family, All In. We just won the national championship. Immediate playing. All those things but mainly it's because Chizik surrounded himself with great recruiters and Auburn has a lot offer just like the other top SEC schools. Did anyone question why Fat Phil was able to land top recruits so often in the 90s and early 00s?
