Step 1: Get to big game.
Step 2: Win big game.
Neither is easy in college football.
Has Ole Miss ever played a big game(post segregation)? Have you ever been in a matchup of two top ten teams? Ever? I honestly don't think you ever have. What about top 15 teams? I don't think so either.
Using your logic, Ole Miss will never be embarassed. Keep on losing to your one annual PPV opponent. That's the definition of respectable.

2008 Cotton bowl we played one-loss #7 Texas Tech and beat them by 13.
