The formation was set except for the 4 guys running onto the field and it's not like they weren't penalized for it.

problem is on an offensive penalty the clock should start as soon as the ball is set by the refs then the players have to be set for a second before the snap therefore they wouldn't have time to get the play off.

It might have technically been the correct ruling, but IMO it certainly doesn't seem right that UNC can run an illegal play - with the clock running - and that illegal play in itself ends up stopping the clock and giving them another play.

I trust that the refs got it right, but it certainly doesn't seem right to me.

But Tenn has no one to blame but themselves. They should have never been in that position to begin with (XP, Jackson penalty, etc)

They had a quarteback under center and a holder and a kicker. Please tell me how this makes sense
