Maybe some SEC fans can help me. I follow SEC football pretty closley, especially LSU. Im of course an Ohio State fan as well as the Big 10.

Im aware of the success that the SEC has had especially with LSU, Florida and Alabama in recent years. Auburn this year is having a great season. I was unaware though that somewhere through this I missed Arkansas becoming a national powerhouse.

Ive been reading alot of posts by Arkansas fans and they are a very confident bunch.

Do other SEC fans consider Arkansas a national power now?

We don't even consider them an SEC power (Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn are all higher than them, they are on par with South Carolina).

Nope. The only national powers are Alabama, LSU and Florida. Tennessee has the ability to be one (they were in the 90s). Arkansas is barely a regional power.

Only when talking to Big 10 fans.

We see them more like a skid mark and treat them as such

Most of the main Arkansas posters on here just try to ruffle the feathers of the teams we are playing.

We're not an annually elite team in the SEC but we are one of the top 3 this year along with Auburn and LSU. We made it through the toughest division in CFB and that alone is reason enough to think that we can beat some team from Ohio.

No we are not a national power. I would put us about on par with Wisky in your conference.

But I do think with Petrino, we are about to be a top 15 team annually for a while. And that would be top 15 at the end of the year.

Most hog fans on here are just shite talkers that try to stir the pot. I have great respect for tOSU and your coach. I hope for the same in return.

Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear... Or in LSU's case, getting farther by the day.

Would you not be confident if your team was playing someone who had lost to the ONLY ranked team they had played this year?

Arkansas will be a powerhouse on Tuesday night. Thats all that should fricking matter to you.

Maybe in the 1960s and possibly in the future IF Paterno stays, but not now. They're not even in the top half of their own conference as far as prominence goes today.

To me, the only really dominant "national powers" are "great ones" like Boise State and Ohio State who revel in their glory every year by dominating marginally "lesser great ones" within their respective conferences every year.
