i enjoy that a once rival like tulane sent themselves into what is basically ban land

And this. A very strong football program that I really do not care anything about.
Should have moved over to the Big 12 Conference (or whatever they are now that Nebraska is gone to the Big Ten) when the Southwestern Conference went belly up.
