...that they don't have a real fierce, natural rivalry?

And...are Arkansas fans also jealous of this to a lesser degree?

Not to flame; but it seems that being jilted by Saban is the only thing that has given them a team to really hate on.

Nope.

Tulane fricked themselves.

Arkansas wants to be, but nobody really cares about Arky.

This next decaded LSU/Alabama will be what UT/Florida was in the 1990s.

<-------------- jealous

I'd love to have a rival. It feels like we are missing out. I mean we don't have anyone that just hates our guts or would cheer for a nuclear war before they cheered for LSU.

I really wish we had an actual rival.

Why should LSU be jealous of anybody? We do have 2 Crystal Balls whereas if I am correct are only 1 of 2 teams with 2 of them. I think because of even thinking that you must be jealous. So when you or if get to that point or anyone else wins more than that, then you/them might be able to come back in here and accuse us of being jealous.

LSU the first team to win 2 BCS C's and along with Florida to have won 2 BCS C's and 1 of 3 teams in the SEC to win the last 4 BCS C's.

LSU 2003 season 2004 BCS CG & 2007 season 2008 BCS CG.
Florida 2006 season 2007 BCS CG & 2008 season 2009BCS CG
Bama 2009 season 2010 BCS CG
Auburn 2010 season 2011 TBA (maybe)

Come back and we may be able to upgrade until then, good luck!

I'm kinda jealous. Maybe when the SEC expands to 16 teams we can find a reason to hate one of the new teams.

ETA: maybe A&M, since they are (or may be?) the closest geographically of any new additions

Are you serious? Not having a natural rival in our state means we have the inside track in recruiting in a state that annually is at the top in per-capita recruits.

You can keep your rivalry with your dysfunctional little sister for all we care.

LSU may not have a fierce in-state rivalry, but they seem to make up for it by becoming rivals with everyone else in the conference.

Nope, Tulane brought it on themselves. They thought they were too good for the SEC.

I think eventually, LSU/Arkansas will be a huge rivalry.

Not even a little bit. If you've travelled with the team throughout the conference and seen the fervor with which every SEC fanbase burns with the desire of beating LSU you'd understand what I mean. Since the current run of success starting in 2000, every SEC west school marks the calendar mentally for the LSU game. Tiger players and fans do this as well. Facing the SECw opponents and perennial eastern opponent Florida amounts to one colossal rivalry for LSU fans each year. 'Bama and Ole Miss are definitely the top two; 'Bama just because they've been the captain of the SEC forever and really rubbed the Tiger nations nose in the eleven-year run from '71-'81 which old-timers like me won't soon forget. Ole Miss because once upon a time that was THE rivalry of the deep south and one of the top five in the nation along with 'Bama-Auburn. The passion died down as Ole Miss endured a sustained period of mediocrity but I see some of that intensity being renewed in recent years. Being right there with UF as the top teams of the past decade and playing them annually has provided yet another arena for Tiger nation to feel intense passion, though I think there's a greater degree of respect for one another than is felt for the SECw foes. We're LSU and the south is our rivalry. Don't need nothin' else IMO.

I would rather be the only game in town. LSU competes with no one for instate players as far as rivalries.

LSU's "arch rival" is whichever SEC team they get to beat up on next.
