Frankly, I'm interested more than concerned. I watched every one of Auburn's SEC games this year. Cam Newton is a beast. There's no getting around that. But his supporting cast is only good, not great. Auburn has no skill position players that would start at Oregon (besides #2 of course) and their special teams are nothing to write home about. Oregon has a HUGE advantage on special teams. I think Oregon will struggle to stop Newton, just like everyone else. But I also think that Auburn defense (the one that gave up 49 points to a completely one-dimensional Arkansas team) is beyond suspect. I saw several teams with vanilla offenses move the ball at will against them. Fairley is a player but he isn't measurably better than Stephen Paea and UO had no problem with him.

I think the bravado of Auburn fans is born out of ignorance. They didn't play a game outside of the deep South this year and simply don't know any better. They don't know how good Pac-10 football is (Stanford would do MAJOR damage if they played in the SEC.). They're about to find out and I can't wait.

Oh dear lord.. This is the most delusional fan base out there..

Our special teams aren't good?

Wes Byrum is as clutch as they come, our kick returns are probably among the best in the country, and we never have to punt the ball.

This site looks like the Oregon version of al.com. If that's the case, that's about the same homer nonsense you would read about Auburn.

I don't know who's gonna win this game, and am not nearly as confident as some media, and some rivals on here. Oregon scares the shite out of me.

What people often overlook about Auburn is how GREAT their offensive line is. Their offensive line have completely dominated some really good defensive lines this year. It's a tremendous unit. I've always said an offense only needed three things to be a really successful unit: A great QB, a tremendous offensive line and a good offensive coach. Just look at the Saints the last couple years, the Patriots when they were winning all those Super Bowls, the Packers in the mid '90s, the Eagles before T.O. with Reid and McNabb, etc... All of those teams never had top running backs or elite #1 WRs but their QB, offensive line and offensive coaching were all tremendous and their offense was very successful. This year's Auburn team has all those things in spades. They have the best QB in the country. Malzahn is an offensive mastermind. Their offensive line is tremendous. Who really cares about their skill position players? That issue has been completely overblown all season long.

Oregon does have the edge for skill players imo, excluding Cam. Here's the catch, you cant fricking exlude Cam.

Oregon will get that arse spunk

I love these kinds of threads. You do realize that people have been posting equally ridiculous things about Oregon on this board all season, right? This happens on all sports message boards.

Oregon's strength of schedule is 68,Auburn was around 4. The second best team they beat was Arizona, who had 5 loses. Stanford was the best they beat. Auburn will win this game by 17 or more. It will be a good game for a half and the tigers will pull away to an easy victory.
