Titans might be a good place for Cam. But prolly the best thing for Tennessee would be if the owner ran into a bullet.

You don't Cam Newton because he's played one year of CFB, doesn't do pre-snap reads, plays in the spread, has questionable footwork, and from what I've seen hasn't made NFL throws into tight spaces.

Newton has a lot of physical gifts becuase playing QB in the NFL requires accuracy and the ability to make pre-snap decisions.

Newton is way too high of a risk to spend a high pick on ....

I wouldn't take Cameron Newton this year with any intention of starting him this year. Take him in the 5th or later and let him learn how to actually be a quarterback for at least 2-3 seasons and then see where you are at.

I don't get why people seem to think a guy who was started a grand total of 13 games at the FBS level in a shotgun zone read based offense is going to suddenly cure all the quarterback ills of a NFL team.

Hell, I'm a Saints fan and if he were there in the 3rd round I wouldn't mind them snatching him up.

So you'd use 3rd round pick who at the earliest wouldn't start for you until the 2014 season?

Good luck with that.

You're plowing in the wrong pasture, buddy. I hate to play "the card," but the posters on this site aren't known for their respect for QBs of a certain background. Cam's arm strength and accuracy are as good as I've seen this year. His decision making isn't so bad, either. I don't know whether he'll bomb the wonderlic or not, but Eli outscored Peyton. It's not a fricking crystal ball into a QB's future. He will go top 15. I'd put something on it.

So had Tim Tebow, Tommy Frazier, Charlie Ward (though he chose NBA), and Danny Wuerffel. I'm sorry, but system QBs have never panned out in the NFL. Vick is the only QB right now that is different simply because of his athletic ability. I think it's worth a shot picking Cam, but I wouldn't put the stake of my franchise on him, which is what you do with a top 10-15 pick in the draft.
What he said. Andrew luck is definitely the best qb available and that is who I would take every day

I could be wrong but I'd think after the kinda trouble V Young has caused them, they'd stay away from drafting a QB that's just like him.

And what does that have to do with the fact that Cameron Newton will not make it anytime soon as a quarterback in the NFL?

So you think he will be a first round pick eh? How high?

He won't be a Top 15 pick I can tell you that right now. Unless he has some ridiculous combine and workout (meaning he actually proves he can throw the ball under center and not just scramble around all day), he won't be taken in the first round.

No GM worth his weight in seahorse shite is going to take him in the first round.

There is an extremely good chance he's a top 15 pick. Lot of teams are looking for a QB and he's one of the top QBs in the draft.
