Seven SEC players named by football writers to All-America team, and Newton was not one. Doubt a Heisman winner has ever had that happen.

Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Oregon each had two players on the team
Auburn still had more than Bama.

So he missed one all american list out of how many?

He's got the Heisman in the bag. He won the Maxwell. He won the Davey O'Brien. He won the Walter Camp award. He's on the Walter Camp All American team.

5. As of 2009, the NCAA recognizes the lists of All-Americans selected by the AP, AFCA, FWAA, Sporting News, and the WCFF to determine consensus All-Americans. At least three of these organizations have to select a player in order for him to receive the "consensus" honor. If a player is named an All-American by all five organizations, he receives the "unanimous consensus" status.
