I think Carolina has a great shot to pull it off. Auburn has no answer for stopping Jeffery on the outside especially when they have to account for Lattimore on the ground as well. South Carolina has a good enough defense to hang with Auburn as well, especially as there seems to be some sort of blueprint forming on Auburn as they have been slowed drastically at times in recent games. I think the Spurrier/Johnson coaching combination gets it done. Remember, USC had Auburn on the ropes at home earlier in the year. I'd say Auburn is better now than then, but so is Carolina. 38-30 Carolina.

Welp. I've predicted Auburn to lose all year. No reason to change now.

PRESSURE
*FACT: An undefeated team has lost in each of the last 2 SEC title games.
AUBURN: Can the pressure that surrounds the Tigers (and I’m not talking about the Cam Gate crap) finally get to them. They are on the proverbial door step of playing for the school’s 2nd national title and that could prove to be a bit more than they can handle. Sure they have had 6 come from behind wins in the 2nd half, but the smartest of all gamblers and soothsayers know that luck and good fortune will eventually run out.
CAROLINA: I am dead serious when I say this, what pressure? Nobody expected the Cocks to even be here, so what do they have to lose? They really don’t. Spurrier and Co. can lay it all out on the line and bet the house and they can ‘stand’ or ‘double-down’ and it doesn’t matter if they bust or come up blackjack they have already won just by getting here.

RUSH DEFENSE
*FACT: In the last 5 SEC Title games, the team held to the fewest rushing yards has lost.
AUBURN: The Tigers are allowing just 108 yards a game rushing and come in #10 in the country against the run. Defensive lineman Nick Fairley is a beast and comes in with 20 tackles for loss on the season and is a big reason for the Tigers success against the run. The only team to rush for over 200 yards against Auburn this season is Ole Miss and the Tigers beat them by 20.
CAROLINA: The Cocks come in as the nation’s #5 defense against the run allowing just 93 yards a game on the ground. Yes, Cam and the boys trounced them for 334 yards but in the 8 games since they have only allowed 2 teams to reach the century mark. In their last 3 games leading up to this one (Florida, Troy and Clemson) the Cocks allowed a total of 177 rushing yards, all 3 teams came in averaging over 154 yards a game rushing.

COACHING
*FACT: Coaches appearing in their 1st SEC Title Game are just 5-7, coaches in their 2nd or more are 12-10.
AUBURN: Gene Chizik is just 2 full years removed from leading his then Iowa State Cyclones to a 2-10 overall record and 0-8 mark in the Big XII. Chizik has passed all his tests so far this semester, but the ‘Final’ is no sure shot.
CAROLINA: Steve Spurrier has won more SEC Championship games than any other coach (5-2), however it has taken him 6 long seasons to get the Cocks to Atlanta. But you gotta like someone who has been there done that compared to a 48 year old virgin.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
Cam Newton will play a HUGE part in the final outcome of this game. However, there is also two key play makers on the South Carolina offense that will be the difference makers in this game. Cocks wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey and freshman sensation running back Marcus Lattimore. While Cam will get his large chunk of total yardage, Jeffrey will come up with at least 3 catches and Lattimore will run at least 30 times and help the Cocks keep the Cam Train waiting at the station longer than he would like. It will not take a perfect game by Carolina to pull out the upset, but if the Tigers dig themselves into an early hole like they have time and again this season, then the clock will strike midnight on their run at perfection. It doesn’t matter if overall Auburn is the better team or not, because in the words of former Cocks Coach Lou Holt “You just have to be the better team in this game.”

In the end, Spurrier’s Cocks choke Chizik’s War Cam Eagle.

Jonathons- I'd say your right, but pretty dependable rumor has it that game refs will not be chosen til an hour and half b4 game time and all refs will be in the pot. So they'll either have to pay them all or get lucky. That said Spurrier and EJ will have a gameplan and no doubt help from the UA and LSU coaches. AU has no answer for Jeffries and Lattimore is ready for a high stakes breakout game. As long as Garcia is not 09 Garcia, Carolina wins. SC-42 / AU-35

How have past SEC championship games featuring a team with a shot at the BCS title and a team with no shot at the BCS title been officiated?

I ask this because many of you probably remember the 2007 West Virginia-Pitt game where it was blatantly clear that the referees were trying to rig the game for West Virginia.

Is there a chance we could see some one-sided officiating tomorrow, or will it be fair?

Somebody said they're gonna choose the refs an hour before gametime. Is that right? And are you asking because you think TCU is good enough to play in the Ship?

Well, I'd imagine an Auburn loss would open the door.
