I'd be willing to bet, tradition rich programs sell their history as well as recent success. And again, Auburn had 1 SEC title in the last 20 yrs, I'm sure kids were somewhat aware of that.

Well, we could argue that, but the fact remains his salesmanship was good enough to make them forget that. That this is a new Auburn. An elite Auburn with the best players from all over the country. We're setting the new standard in the SEC and you'll be at ground 0.

Yes,most kids being recruited can only relate to the past decade 00-09. When you look at it through their eyes, this is what you see. Florida, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn in that order with the most SEC wins. So what might be perceived by us 30 somethings is viewed differently by 16-18 year olds. Just some facts, nothing more, nothing less...

Most do now of 5 finger & a thumbs as well. Those kid were during their extremely impressionable stages when that debacle was going down.
