I can't believe they'd do it because of the computer implications of playing a team that bad.

Obviously it wouldn't have mattered. If Alabama was undefeated, their SOS would still be far better than Boise, TCU, etc...
Georgia State can't even drag the strength of an SEC regular season down, even when it seems to be as low as it is this year.
