This situation is not good for any of us in the SEC. It needs to be put to rest and hopefully soon. I for one see no benefit to LSU or any other team in the SEC. I for one wish none of this had happen and Auburn wins the Title. GEAUX TIGERS

The Hat runs a clean program....and it certainly benefits LSU...short term - SECCG/MNC....long term....their following/recruits come to LSU because of the intense hatred of Alabama.

Win Win in my book

I've seen and read that. I think this will really all hinge on whether or not the NCAA believes Cameron when he says he didn't know. As I previously stated, I think there's a chance Auburn gets a lubeless lay, to put it mildly. If you're even making a half-hearted attempt to think critically, you have to admit, there isn't any real evidence that Cameron or Auburn did anything wrong, which takes me back to Albert Means. I'm not delusional. I understand that on the surface, this doesn't look good for Auburn at all. I'm just a little tired of fans from other schools not using some of the skills they teach in "College 101"

You are correct there arn't anything things that are currently factual to lay the pipe on auburn university.... They can only lay the banhammer on cam newtown with his father admitting to solicitating the money without his sons knowledge that article states that any member of the family that agrees to or makes an agreement to accept money make thes player ineligible for the whole confrence. Now, if the fbi investigation and allegations prove true with the board of trustees then auburn is completely f'ed in the A

I just realized that you aren't very smart. I won't be discussing it with you any further...

Basically, with the facts that the 'public' knows, it is up to the NCAA as to how harsh they want to enforce their laws.

That's what all this is going to boil down to if nothing else comes of this situation (which won't happen).

"I hope AU is innocent in all this."

Strange is, it could be that their guilt, in so many other areas (buying politicians, rigging casino games, failed banks, illegal use of TARP funds, cash cards from secret bank accounts) is what did them in.

But the NCAA allowed him to transfer
to and play for the University of Memphis, another Division I-A football
program.

Why? Two reasons. The NCAA had no supportable evidence that the high school coaches had pitched Means to Memphis or received any benefits from Memphis. And the NCAA had no supportable evidence that Means or his family had received any of the benefits the Alabama booster provided his high school coaches.

Can't tell you which thread or which link BUT I do remember reading through all of this crap at some point a quote from the NCAA rules about this ... it said something about being ineligible IN THAT SAME CONFERENCE meaning Cam could transfer (like Means did) to another school NOT in the SEC. At least that's how I remember reading it.

Not trying to be rude, but given the enormous amount of bullshite/idiocy posted here, I'll be needing a link to that info, if you don't mind...

Do you think that MSU and Auburn were the only teams that Cecil contacted?

Cam attended Blinn College in Texas. Wins the NC for them.

Hmmm, let's think a minute here...

Is there a big conference that has teams in Texas?

Are there a number of teams in that conference that could use a guy like Cam?

Cecil was shopping his son to the B12 & SEC.

Should have been big red flag:

If accurate thsi is exactly why the decision will be made after the seasoon. No one wants to deal with that animal. You would have to change so much it will be a train wreck. Now LSU goes to GA for SEC champioships. BCS scores will be affected. Its just easier to Let AU play him and them Vacate. No matter what Happened to USC and Reggie Bush they will always be viewed as the Champs after they dismantled OU.

@ Spinoza...

It's Blinn not Bling and they did win the NJCNC...

The Blinn College buccaneers begin 2010 as the nation's top-ranked junior college team after winning the national championship in dramatic fashion last season.
