Still can't believe Auburn just acted like nothing was wrong. Who cares if they can't prove anything, your players dad was just accused of soliciting money for letter of intent from another school.

I think they do take it seriously. When the NCAA says "we suggest you sit him.", I think/hope Auburn will. But, and the argument is almost cliche at this point, Auburn is "damned if they do, damned if they don't"... What's the difference between 2-10 and 0-12? And that's considering we are good enough to win without him... I like pumping sunshine just as much as any fan, but there's a probability we'd get arse-raped by bama without cam

That is very true, and every school will start to follow Auburn's lead here... unless the NCAA decides to forcefully discourage that kind of thinking.

I agree, and that's my reasoning for them playing him if this turns out to be true. He had already played in all 10 games up to that point. If he is ineligible then it doesn't matter what they do for the last few games. Might as well play him anyway. If he is ineligible the season goes right down the shitter. A couple more games wouldn't make a difference

If AU has not done anything wrong in Cam's recruitment, then the school won't be punished just because Cam is ineligible other than the forfeited games. . But since AU played a player that is known to be ineligible, AU is subject to more penalties than merely forfeiting the games. You opened yourself up for punishment even if you did not pay Cam.

I really think the NCAA will be forced to develop a new line of thinking and quick action because of all of this. This is unprecedented in terms of whats at stake with a progam being investigated and the effect it could have on other teams.

The NCAA will have to adapt a portion of its rules and reponses to deal with 'in season' issues and how it develops.
