Could Slive have been paid off by lowder and co?
Now that is an awesome thought...would make sense with the way they handle auburn & alabama differently than the rest of the teams.

With the kinda jack allegedly being thrown around by the AU Banking/Gambling cabal...anything...and I mean anything...is possible. Hense the FBI. They love public corruption. This, if true, will be really bad for the soon to be junior college formally known as Auburn University....

"I got a sick feeling earlier when I was reading that fanhouse article saying Cam Newton was ineligible by SEC standards, that Slive might be getting paid by a few schools and/or particular boosters, or the SEC office are paying refs.
That would be the ultimate......The SEC wouldn't gain it's reputation back for decades."
This bothers me too. Unlike pretty much every head in the sand Auburn fan on the internet, I can admit that IF your hunch is correct I wouldn't put it above a Bama booster or boosters to be involved in something like that along with boosters of other SEC schools. That would truly make me sick and I'd wholeheartedly agree that the SEC offices should be moved at that point. Though it wouldn't likely result in NCAA penalties, the embarrassment of such shameful corruption would forever brand any schools that had boosters involved. I HOPE for the conference's sake nothing like that is turned up.

Who is the primary target of the FBI probe of Colonial? Would it not have to be Lowder? He is one of few not indicted..yet.
Looks like to me something in Tarp request or other documents prompt Regulatory interest. Then matter was determined to be possibly of a criminal nature and reffered to feds. Probably DC. We know FBI investiagtion started Jan 09, Feds seized bank in August 09. The had wire taps very quickly. Need Probable cause to get Wire taps. 90% chance they had insider from day one on this. Bet whistle blower went to bank regulators or confessed when they found irregularities.
Which gets me to this. Appears the bribery indictments were secondary to the Bank fraud investigation which is still going on. Lowder is not indicted yet correct? Camgate also seems to be another colleral crime they found. With Wire taps in place from Jan 09 to Aug 2010 on law firms, lobbyist, politicians, judges, etc (That we know about it. I assume they are still ongoing) and your dixie mafia idiots talking on cell phones all the time. (dont even need taps) I would seriously doubt this is the last secondary investigation we get out of this.
This is a mother lode for uncovering corruption in bama. 60 minutes and Frontline will do a whole show on this before it is over. Camgate will be about 5 minutes max.

I'll settle for a 15 second statement by Stan Verret on ESPN that Cam is ineleigible, and Auburn's victories vacated.

There is no doubt that information presented in this thread is juicy. But The NCAA could end this whole Cam Newton fiasco by doing one simple thing:
Interview the 'recruiter' to whom Cam supposedly admitted that 'the money was too much'. If that statement alone can be substantiated or even deemed believable on behalf of the 'recruiter' making the claim then this case is CLOSED! Newton participated with his father and thus is eniligible to compete in NCAA sanctioned athletics. Period.
All of the rest of it is irrelivant to the 2010 College Football Season which is quickly coming to a close.
As for Mike Slive and the SEC, it appears there is ample evidence for him to declare Newton ineligible based on existing SEC bylaws as posted in this thread and on the SEC Rant. Unfortunately, Slive has 17 million reasons to drag his feet. After all, I don't see anyone asking USC to return the money earned from BCS and from merchandise sales during the Bush ineligible season.

The Feds have already visited Colonial and made them aware of the the fact that they have evidence to support the claim that Auburn football players were given ATM cards to tap into a slush fund, as well as loans from the bank that they never had to pay back. He also said that the story about AU players going to Victoryland and hitting rigged slots, ala Larry Langford, is 100% true, and the Feds have proof of that as well.
I was also told the reason Slive sat on the story is because the Feds made him. They were afraid if news leaked about Cam and illegal payments, that the people they were listening to would know their phones were tapped. I was told to expect all the information to be made public once the indictments are handed down.
Yet another rumor giving credence to the theories. I trust the guy that wrote this btw. He's been pretty spot on so far in this whole mess.
On a side note, maybe Slive will get off the hook?

Good work Tuck. I had to miss all day yesterday ata conference, but I was a "under the covers reading" fool last night playing catch up.

He definitely would be off the hook if the Feds told him to keep quiet. The Feds have 0 interest in football and it's outcome and it totally makes sense that they would hush the higher ups in the SEC office to keep from endangering a criminal probe on individuals who happened to be in the hiarchy of Auburn. It sounds, like Alabama's fast rise with Saban, was at the worst possible time for Auburn. They felt they had to do something quick to keep up, while the corruption was going on with the Banking. Talk about bad timing.
