The only way Newton sits is if Auburn chooses to sit him

Anybody sitting at their computer refreshing every 5 min waiting for the NCAA or the SEC to force their hand better not hold their breath. Slive's MO has been clear for years (Protect the SEC NC contenders at all cost). As for the NCAA, they only make rulings on eligibility after they conclude their investigations. They may make a suggestion on what to do if you want to avoid harsher penalties, but unless they have made their final decision on his eligibility (and face it, when are they ever not dragging their feet on these types of things?)they won't force Auburn"s hand.
Auburn might take the long term view and err on the side of caution, but i don't get that vibe from them right now. Aside from the no comment thing yesterday they have been pretty adamant about playing him. I think that with Newton almost assuredly going pro next year they figure that this is the best shot at a NC (tainted or not)they will get in the foreseeable future. I say that they will play their best hand until they are forced not to.

The sad/aggravating point is that Auburn/Cam have managed to F**K up the entire CFB season for everybody. It gets worse day by day from the Auburn perspective ( they're guilty as shite) and they can choose to man up and salvage the season for us and other top BCS schools. Or, they can play innocent and take the hit after the season when it's too late. If they chose the latter they will be despised by LSU and other schools who be slow to forget this one for a long time.

WHy would they err on the side of caution? If he's ineligible then the whole season is shot so it won't make a difference if they play him or not now.
We know nothing will be declared until the season is over so I fully expect AU to ride him to glory if they can. They will just deal with the ramifications later and the other teams that could be contenders will be screwed.

Auburn will not sit him. These group of assclowns are all in and they are going to ride this horse until he collapses. when he collapses however, he is taking the entire program and all involved down with him.

Auburn's sole NC has an * beside it because of probation and they seem proud of it.Just my opinion, but I think they would love to have another tainted NC to put with it.
If AU and Oregon win out I believe it would be an entertaining Game but I think the Ducks would take the War Eagles. jmho...
