Question about Newton Allegations

Is all of this stuff REALLY just coming out now.
Or, has ESPN known a little for a while, but had decided to really push it now since it fits their agenda on getting a non-automatic qualifier into the NC game.
I don't think Cam in innocent (where there is smoke, there is usually fire), but it seems odd that this is all coming out NOW.
Early in the year, noone really thought AU was a NC threat, but now ESPN needs to knock somebody out of the way for Boise/TCU, and the SEC is an easy target.

I think the NCAA has known about it but the whistle blowers are just starting to come out with the details to media outlets.

I think they probably had access to some rumors, but I'm also thinking that some of this stuff is just now being leaked and they just now feel like they have enough info to run stories without risking their credibility.

I think you've hit it on the head.
It wasn't until Auburn is mentioned for NC, and Newton the Heisman that all this stuff is coming out.
Had these not happen, I highly doubt we'd be hearing anything right now.

I think if money changed hands we would absolutely hear about it no matter what.
The cheating is just a sidebar that gives writers more hits on their sites for ad revenue.
I don't think the cheating at UF would ever been much to talk about had the money not been an issue.
I do agree that this is a much bigger story because of AU success this year and Cam's Heistman charge.

Again, I don't think Cam is innocent, too much smoke for there not to be a big fire.
The timing of all this just seems to fit ESPNs agenda perfectly.
Maybe the network got lucky and it just happened this way, or maybe they sat on iy for a while untill the timing was right.

Yeah, but it could also be said that the real meat and potatoes (phone calls, recordings, etc.) didn't start coming out until it was announced that the FBI would get involved.
