HDN inherited a solid amount of talent whether you admit it or not. If yah yah football wasn't a complete x's and o's retard then you would have been winning earlier. Mullen came after one of the worst coaches in the SEC of the decade and won as many SEC games as AU, Arky, and USCe. All programs in much better shape than what Crooms left us with.

As for recruiting, there wouldn't have been much of a gap at all if not for our late fumbles with Neal, Newton, and some player I'm forgetting. 2009 was an excellent class as well that was falling apart before Mullen was hired.
