Scroll down to the bottom:
"That's not the only work going on around the stadium. Athletic director Mal Moore said Alabama already is making plans to erect a statue of Saban near ones of the school's other national championship football coaches, including the late Paul "Bear" Bryant."
What's next? He gets sucked off at halftime of next year's home opener by the Board of Regents?

I heard about this right after the NC

And?
We have a statue of every coach that has won an NC at Alabama on the Walk of Champions.

It's been known since the day that he was hired that if he won a National Championship here he would get a statue. This is nothing new.

It's an Alabama tradition to honor all title winning coaches outside the stadium.
If you are ignorant of these traditions, please refrain from making stupid posts about it.
Thanks.

You know what is even more insane? Getting a tattoo of the tiger eye on your forearm. Quick question.. does it distract the other physicians in the operating room?

That's insane! If they're going to build Saban one, then they should build one for every Bama coach that's won a national title. Oh wait...

The good thing with Saban is that they won't have to use as much bronze.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would kind of feel embarrassed, or cheapened maybe if LSU got a NC coach from another SEC conference. Say if we got Urban Myer, I would feel funny about that, going on the coattail of another rival University. Just my feelings. I guess that's what bothers me most about Saban going to Bama. They're not smart enough to find a great up and coming new coach.

BTW, I'm not really cool with this.
I wish we would wait for him to retire or move on then bring him back later on.

That is wrong...... Mal Moore didn't say he had plans to erect a statue of Coach Saban. He said it is already underway.
Coach Saban will be honored along with the other 4 Alabama coaches that won a national championship. I'm hoping it will be completed before the next season.
