No, but I remember someone saying that it was affecting Mallett's accuracy. I have no idea if it's true but if you compare the games we played on flat artificial turf to the games we played on natural grass fields with crowns, you'll see a stark difference in his performances.
The comment you are referring to came at half-time so obviously no one (other than some stupid fans) blamed the loss on the field.

Oh my goodness, Mallett is returning, maybe LSU ought to just consider conceiding the game. But wait, if memory serves me correctly,LSU has about a 15 game edge in this series, so maybe they might just decide to play the game next year afterall. And that include kicking their undefeated hog asses in the '64 Cotton Bowl, when of course the Tigers had no chance in hell to win that game. Why don't you just go call a few pigs and let Lsu worry about beating arkansas again when the time arrives.
