Everyone seems to hate Bama on these boards, and everyone's at each other's throats, but on rivals.com and other national boards, a lot of SEC posters DEFEND each other - INCLUDING Bama. Kinda funny.

I think you see that a lot of places. It is kinda like a family thing. You can pick on your brother and beat him up because he is your brother. But let some kid from down the street or at school say or do something to him and you are gonna be kicking the shite outta that kid for messing with your brother.

Hey, I'm a Bama fan first, but a Southerner second. Some of y'all may not have been lucky enough to have been born Bama fans yourselves, but at least you weren't so tragically unlucky as to have been born Yankees. I'll defend any of my Southern brethren against anyone else, anytime.

I think we do that here to. If you go to the More Sports Board and someone from outside the conference attacks one of our teams some people will take up for them.
I have told the story before that when I was in the Army I was stationed in Texas and Auburn beat the shite out of Texas and I think it was '87. I had been so sick of hearing the Texas bullshite that I had my mother mail me an Auburn shirt and I wore it out to a bar and got my arse whipped by some Texas fans and it was one of the best arse whippings I ever took. They kicked my arse pretty bad but I fought about 4 of them, for Auburn no less.
Also, I told in another thread that I went to the Indy Bowl the last time we played in it and it was about 60% LSU fans there all wearing purple and gold and they pulled for BAMA like it was an LSU game. Everytime BAMA did something good the stadium would erupt.
I think the SEC is like one big dysfunctional family and it is ok for us to talk about each other but we don't want anyone else doing it.

This is because we are all the rejects that got banned from the other boards.
We (alot, not all) likely got banned for our words and aggresive posting. We get away with it here, hence you see alot of it.
The admins let alot go and that is what makes it the best board on the interwebz.
