Yeah but wouldn't coaching with someone for years give you more insight about tendencies and such than just watching a bunch of game film?

No. Unless you're a terrible coach, or les miles, you change your tendencies based on the players you have and the team you're playing.

Yes and no. Different players in different systems. If any advantage at all, it would be Saban. Pretty sure Muschamp developed his own style after a few years on his own as the DC.
