Obviously Lou knows what he's talking about. The slobbering is kinda funny but the rant he did about agents in the bowl selection show was pretty good. He really got fired up about not trusting a guy who's only there to make money off you. Wish Andre Smith had heard that last year.
Lou has been in good form for the entire show. When he's not talking about ND winning a national championship he's alright.

He is a complete idiot. Hasn't predicted anything right in years. LSU fans get PO'd when he picks us to win. Utter nonsense!

Whether his picks suck or not, the man has a great story and I really respect him for what he did in his life.

Even the senile have their moment of clarity.

People just like to rip on him because of how he talks and how he's such a ND homer. Guarantee if people from this board were in his spot they'd do the exact same thing. Nobody seems to complain about Mark Mary picking USC and Pitt every game.
Anyways, he knows what he's talking about and anyone that doesn't think that is just a hater

Oh he's out of control on the air. He'd pick ND against the '85 Bears.
He's like a John Madden where he sounds dumb but he obviously didn't become an all-time great coach by being dumb.
I have to rewind him sometimes so I can stare like a train wreck.
I think this was one of his best shows in a long time though.

People are so stupid thinking he doesn't know his shite. He is on the show because he was a big time coach. Plus the guy is funny and awesome. People take everything so seriously. The guy is just super loyal to ND and South Carolina because he put himself so much into his job obviously. Seems to me the type of character you want to be around. I read somewhere some of his old quotes and the dude is awesome.

Beyond that he's so out there that everyone talks about him. It's one of those situations where his goofiness and homerism is something that people love to hate. He's great water cooler talk on Mondays.
I totally agree on him as a coach though. He worked hard as a coach and now he can enjoy himself on the show. Let him be goofy, he earned it.

Really, so picking Notre Lame to win it all every year, and every game makes him know his shite?

It's called entertainment, but most folks seem to have forgotten that's what sports are.

So you are saying that Lou doesn't believe that they will win, he is just picking them for the fan's entertainment?

Lou Holtz was and is a fantastic part of college football. He'll be missed when he's gone. I'd much rather listen to Dr. Lou than The Bachelor Jesse Palmer.
