Stability. In a word, this is probably the best word to describe the OPPOSITE of what is going on in the SEC world right now. Here's my breakdown, what do y'all think?

In terms of stability:

1. Alabama is definitely not going anywhere but up for an unforeseeable amount of time in the distance... 3 years, 5 years etc... STABLE. If Saban is at the helm, things will be fine. And there is no reason to believe he'll go anywhere else any time soon, if ever.

2. Florida. They come in at #2 in-spite of losing Tebow after this year. As long as Meyer is there, Florida will continue to be a stable powerhouse. There is SOME legitimate concern he might leave soon, but until there's substantial rumblings, it's all hearsay. Florida in a unique position due to Meyer's status... but can't be in an upward trend because they're arguably the best program in the country.. certainly top 5 by any standard you could put to them. And even if Meyer leaves, UF will have no issue attracting top tier coaches to replace him.

3. ARKANSAS. I see Arkansas sticking with this Petrino guy for a while. Likewise, I see Petrino sticking with Arkansas. He's a confident and competent coach that knows good and well that he and Saban are the best two coaches in the western division. They've completed a lot by showing Auburn's admin they screwed up in not hiring him when they had a shot. Arkansas in an ultimately upward trend.

4. LSU. I put LSU in 4th place because I really don't believe in Miles' product, and I think the LSU fanbase is ravenous for championships... i believe they will force him out.. but he'll have winning seasons there because he's able to recruit well. I think LSU is in a downward trend because of Miles.

5. Auburn. They're obviously excelling. They WILL lose their OC eventually, probably not this year... but sooner than later, and then they're gonna side step or take a step back. Ultimately Auburn is in a sideways trend... no way to see how it's gonna play out with the coaching staff.

6. UGA. KEEP RICHT... keep him motivated, and you'll get back to being consistent. If not, then it could get rough for a bit while you re-establish your program under a new coach.

7. Ole Miss. You'll be consistent alright, consistently middle tier... but not much has changed for Ole Miss. Keep Nutt, you might get one out of 4 good seasons with him.

8. USC... If Spurrier has a good 2nd half of the season, he'll probably stay. You're looking good right now. Good luck, but no matter how you look at it, he's old and not gonna last that much longer. Which puts y'all in an ultimately downward trend... you'll have to re-staff soonish.

No offense at all to MSU, Kentucky, or Vandy for exclusion. I also feel like LSU's situation could end up going SUPER south SUPER fast considering the meltdown manic crowd they have. people think Bama fans are bad about it... i really think the negatigers are gonna crumble that system as long as Miles proves to NOT be a true championship caliber coach. so their position on this chart could be on the bottom too. just putting them at #4 because of what i think WILL happen.

it's late-ish, i'm tired and sick.. but i thought i might get some feedback. i tried to keep each team's thing as short as possible, so i left out an absolutely huge amount of probably crucial details to discuss each team. let's just build on it instead of flame me for seeming ignorant etc..

Arkansas at 3 is a bit of a push

I don't think you could ever put 'Bama at 1 in terms of stability, God knows it'll only take 1 bad season at 'Bama and the Tide fans will be calling for Saban's head. Not to mention Saban does have a reputation of bolting out of nowhere. No I do not believe he will or is thinking or planning to do so anytime in the near future, but he has had the history of doing so.

m2pro, I think you are right on with this but you probably have Ole Miss a little high as long as Nutt is there.

Don't count your championships before they're won. After Saban's 6-6 season, Bama fans were ready to run him out of town on a rail. While it's true that Bama had a great season last year, they didn't win anything other than an SEC West title. They choked in their 2 biggest games of the year. And don't forget that Little Nicky has no buyout clause. He can walk away whenever he wants. Though none of them would admit it, that has to be in the back of every Gump's mind

Wishful thinking on the part of most Gumps. LSU will not allow Miles to take down the program. Four or more losses this year and he will officially be on the hot seat next season. If he doesn't improve, he's gone.

All the talk about Urban Meyer leaving Florida is just wishful thinking by gump idiots like you and other Florida haters. He is not going anywhere any time soon

just marking this post so hopefully maybe I can pull it out for you next year when you are going through inexperienced QB problems like we are.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but Bama hasn't won anything yet. They have a good regular season record and very little to show for it. Not trying to flame here but the point of spending so much money and being an elite team is winning championships. Not losing in conference championship games and to the Utah's of this world. If this is your idea of stability then Bama is #3 at best.

Not this again!

Spurrier is good for another 3 years minimum. And with only 6 seniors on the two deep (and 14 freshmen), he is definitely not leaving after this year.
