I agree, the only thing is why would he request the no buyout clause if he really plans on retiring at Alabama?

He's never had a buyout clause, non issue.

Because you never know what might pop up or how things can change.

Why would he want a extension if he wasn't?

Again, why would you want a coach that wants to coach at another school. Buyouts are for schools that don't have any money to buy a good coach.

Tuberville is a great example. The buy out kept him there when many wanted him out and kept him there when he wanted out.

The cost of another school hiring him would be as much as any buyout.

He's 57 years old, the odds of him leaving go down significantly every season. I don't expect him to be at Alabama for fifteen years or so, but I do believe he'll be in Tuscaloosa beyond 2011.
