Explain where they get the $$$ for their facilities.

The Waltons and Tysons (Bud Walton Arena / Randal Tyson Track Center) have given millions to the U of A over the years but a lot of Arkansas' money comes from people who worked/work for Wal-Mart, Tyson, JB Hunt and others. As an example the Walker Family has donated millions to the U of A as evident by the 76,000 sq. ft. indoor facility the Willard & Pat Walker Pavilion and Indoor Football Practice Field and the 38,000 sq. ft. Walker Family Training Center that bares their name.

If I'm not mistaken I believe Willard Walker may have been one of the original Wal-Mart Managers but I may be confusing him with the Whittaker Family.

Also, I know a lot of the Big Companies like PepsiCo, Dr. Pepper Group, P & G, Coalgate, and many, many more buy tickets and contribute money and goods to Razorback Functions like Razorfest in conjunction with the Spring Game. A few years ago I secured some Indoor Club Tickets compliments of GE.

There is a lot more money in NW Arkansas than one would imagine.

Thats true about the old time Wal-Mart people. People were paid with stock in the 70s and 80s. I went to high school with a guy whose mother was a high school graduate who worked HR at a Wal-Mart store from the early 80s on. She never made more than 25k per year, but her stock portfolio was worth a couple million, and this was in the late 90s.
