No, that definately is NOT true. NWA wouldn't even reach a top 50 in average income nationally. Not even close. Yes , there are a lot of people in the Fayettevile/Springdale/Bentonville/Rogers area that make A LOT of money, but there are many many MANY more that are at or below the poverty line.I'd say it's probably a 6:1 ratio, at least. My wife works for a non profit that administers government, and some private, aid to lower income residents and there are some POOR people in NWA.
